What is the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS)?
The EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) is the world’s first and largest carbon market, covering approximately 40% of the EU’s greenhouse gas emissions. Established in 2005, it operates on the ‘cap and trade’ principle to reduce industrial emissions cost-effectively.
